- Remuneration: $157,819.30 - $169,781.24 per annum plus Superannuation

- Hours per week: 35

The Role

The Deputy Chief Therapy (DCRT) will assist the Chief Radiation Therapist in providing high‑level leadership and effective management of radiation therapy staff and clinical service of the Radiation Oncology Department. The DCRT will work in all areas of radiotherapy treatment planning and delivery to ensure patient treatments are undertaken accurately, caring and to provide a first‑class radiation therapy service in an efficient, effective and safe manner.

Selection Criteria

- Degree in Medical Radiation Science – Radiation Therapy, and currently registered as a Radiation Therapist with AHPRA and hold a current Radiation Licence with the Department of Environment and Climate Control (DECC) NSW.

- Highly developed communication skills with a strong focus on team development.

- Demonstrated analytical skills, proven troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.

- Demonstrated leadership ability, including the capacity to promote initiative within a group, being self‑motivated and self‑directed to supervise, educate, train and objectively assess staff in a multidisciplinary environment.

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of radiotherapy planning and treatment techniques and principles, latest innovations in planning and treatment techniques and promoting new developments in radiation therapy.

- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of Quality Assurance and accurate documentation in radiotherapy practice.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a senior member of a multidisciplinary team.

- Demonstrated organisational and prioritising skills so that timelines and deadlines are achievable.
