About the opportunity
Become a vital part of the Recovery & Health team as a Claims Advisor, where you will help shape how injured team members navigate their recovery and return-to-work journey. This role offers a unique chance to lead claim determination, working within a forward-thinking team that is delivering improved health outcomes. You’ll be at the centre of collaborative efforts that balance compliance, customer service, and operational efficiency.
What you’ll deliver with us
In this role, you’ll manage claim registrations, determine liability, and support sustainable return-to-work outcomes. Reporting within the Recovery & Health team, you will work closely with Workplace Recovery, Operations, unions, medical professionals, and legal representatives. Success means driving timely, compliant claim decisions that reduce disputes, enhance customer experience, and contribute to the overall health and productivity of the workforce.
You’ll also
- Manage and determine claims for compensation, ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to facilitate claim decisions and sustainable recovery outcomes.
- Coordinate Independent Medical Examinations and participate in case conferences as needed.
- Use technology to streamline processes and improve productivity while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the My Health & Recovery Operational Model and actively support team discussions and feedback processes.

You’re a proactive and empathetic professional who values collaboration and integrity. You have a strong ability to navigate complex situations, build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, and communicate clearly. Your adaptable, solution-focused mindset aligns well with Australia Post’s culture of teamwork and delivering sustainable outcomes for people and the business.
You’ll also need
- Proven experience managing a diverse portfolio of injured team members and delivering timely, cost-effective claims outcomes.
- Demonstrated success in managing stakeholder relationships, including unions, government bodies, HR, and operational teams.
- High-level decision-making and communication skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Understanding of Australia Post Group’s employment conditions and self-insurance licensing requirements.
