Term: 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency

The Role

As Assistant Gardener/Handyperson you would:

- maintain college grounds, including turf areas, garden beds, shrubs and trees, ensuring grounds and gardens are clean and tidy
- maintain a suitable growing environment for soft landscape, including gardens, lawns and broader turf management
- maintain hard landscaping such as courts and paving, and mark sports areas as required
- perform minor repairs and maintenance according to Department policies and guidelines
- keep gardening facilities, equipment and tools neat, clean and serviceable, and report faults promptly

The successful applicant should be enthusiastic and reliable, with an interest in maintaining high standards of the school grounds and improving reticulation efficiency to reduce water usage. Knowledge of soil science, WA plants and turf cricket wicket maintenance is highly desirable.

There is an opportunity to work with the Head Gardener on special projects and to develop new skills as landscaping and maintenance work progresses.
