The Opportunity As a passionate people person, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of our gardens and building fixtures within the Veronica Gardens Retirement Living community. Working closely with Community Manager and the residents, you will ensure our gardens, grounds, building and fixtures are well maintained, presentable and safe for all to enjoy. The ideal candidate needs to be friendly, approachable to residents, have the ability to work autonomously and be the "Jack of all Trades" when it comes to maintenance, gardening and repair Located in Northcote, this is the perfect opportunity to join a wonderful and welcoming community at Aveo Veronica Gardens. This is a Full Time position working Monday - Friday (8:30am - 4:30pm) What we offer - $31.55p/h + relevant Aged Care Award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances + superannuation - All tools and supplies provided - Employee Referral Program and Employee Assistance Program - Discounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providers - Opportunities for further career progression - Be part of a friendly and supportive team in a caring retirement living community Your Impact - Attend to various maintenance requests to create a safe & pleasant environment for residents, visitors and staff - Be responsible for the maintenance of all village gardens including weeding, mowing, hedging, pruning, mulching and green waste removal - Ensure all community spaces are appealing and safe for our community and visitors - Provide transport for residents to visit the local shops once a week by driving the village shuttle bus. Drop off and Pick Up only - Assist residents by loading groceries on and off the village shuttle bus - Maintain effective working relationships with maintenance contractors and suppliers - Carry out preventative maintenance tasks around the community as per schedules - Complete additional ad hoc tasks delegated to you by Community Leaders - Build strong relationships with our residents and enjoy helping them to live their best lives with well-maintained areas. What you'll bring - A warm & caring personality with an interest to make a difference every day - Experience in general maintenance roles or possess 'handy' domestic repair skills (highly desired) - Experience in Gardening duties (highly desired) - Current Police Check certificate (required, but if you do not possess, we can complete for you) - Valid driver's licence (required) Who we are As a leader in retirement living, with 30 years' experience, Aveo provides the stability and confidence to try new things and keep innovating.
