City of Melbourne, Australia Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten Full time

Shape the Future of Aspire Centres

Since opening our first centre in 2017, Aspire has grown to 34 centres across Victoria and Western Australia, with another 80+ centres in the pipeline over the next few years.

With this rapid growth comes an exciting opportunity for an Architect to help shape the look, feel, and usability of our centres, ensuring they reflect our vision while remaining practical and commercially viable.

About the Role

As Architect, you will be Aspire's design advocate, working closely with our developers and project partners to ensure every centre meets Aspire's brand standards, operational needs, and community expectations.

You'll review and influence designs with a focus on tenant experience — balancing compliance, usability, and cost while ensuring centres feel safe, welcoming, and functional for children, families, and educators.

This role suits a registered Architect with strong technical skills, commercial awareness, and a passion for designing environments that deliver lasting value for tenants and communities.

Key Responsibilities

Tenant Experience & Design

- Ensure Aspire's operational and brand requirements are embedded in all projects.

- Review concept and detailed design plans to prioritise usability and tenant outcomes.

- Create environments that support educators, inspire families, and engage communities.

Collaboration with Developers & Consultants

- Partner with developers to integrate Aspire's design standards into new centres.

- Coordinate inputs from external architects, engineers, and planners.

- Work alongside builders and suppliers to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes.

Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure designs meet BCA, Australian Standards, and childcare-specific regulations.

- Identify risks in design documentation and propose cost-effective, practical solutions.

Portfolio & Brand Influence

- Apply Aspire's design principles consistently across 80+ new projects in the pipeline.

- Adapt standards to site-specific conditions while protecting brand identity.

- Promote sustainability and efficient design within budget and rollout timeframes.

About You

- Registered Architect.

- Qualifications in Architecture or a related field.

- Experience in commercial, education, or childcare projects.

- Ability to confidently review consultant drawings and technical documentation.

- Strong communication skills to work with developers, consultants, and stakeholders.

- Commercially minded with a focus on delivering high-quality, functional design.

- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance compliance, cost, and usability.

Why Join Aspire?

- Be part of a fast-growing, values-driven organisation.

- Influence the design of 80+ upcoming centres nationwide.

- Competitive salary package with phone, laptop, and travel allowance.

- Based at our modern South Yarra head office.

- Up to 50% discount on childcare fees at Aspire centres.

- Additional benefits: EAP, paid birthday leave, staff recognition, and more.

At Aspire Early Education, we're committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment that promotes child safety, well-being, participation, empowerment, cultural safety, and awareness for all children, including those with disabilities and from culturally diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and communities.

Aspire Early Education has zero tolerance of child abuse and a duty of care to prevent and minimise child abuse risks in both the physical and online environments.

Shape the future of Aspire centres — partner with developers to deliver inspiring, tenant-focused childcare design.
