Overview
The Community Engagement team at the Perkins is on the lookout for a digital marketing all-rounder who lives online, has one finger on the pulse of our community and another on the latest social media and digital marketing trends so they can optimise our digital presence.
About this role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Community, the Digital Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for growing our online communities and increasing their engagement with us.
The Digital Marketing Coordinator will work mainly with the Perkins Fundraising teams, anticipating the needs of researchers and donors and sharing the story of the Perkins. You’ll also help those teams achieve their digital marketing objectives, helping to build campaign emails and set up simple social marketing campaigns. (Social media for our major fundraising events is managed separately, but you will be expected to pitch in during our busiest event periods.)
What you will get from the experience is a crash course in not-for-profit communications and marketing from a professional team with a reputation for doing things differently while embracing the science of fundraising. You will also be part of a team working to beat the world’s toughest diseases, so people can live longer, healthier and better lives.
Key responsibilities
- Writing, scheduling and reviewing digital content
- Inbox management for all social channels
- Planning and oversight of all Perkins social media pages
- Assisting with social media advertising activities
- Setting up fundraising emails and invitations to supporters
- Evaluating and reporting on progress
- Helping the wider team as required
What you’ll bring
This role would suit someone with some digital marketing experience under their belt, who is well-versed in social media strategy, trends and operations, is energetic and open to learning. You might be new to not-for-profit or medical research sectors, but you will understand why we place the donor at the centre of our communications.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have
- Demonstrated experience in digital marketing, with a strong understanding of integrated campaign execution across multiple channels
- Excellent storytelling and content creationskills, with the ability to tailor messaging from warm, engaging social posts to technical, science-based content
- A natural curiosity and proactive mindset that fuels a constant flow of creative content ideas
- Exceptional organisational skills and a results-driven approach – you thrive on planning, executing, and evaluating campaigns
- The flexibility to respond quickly to new developments, like exciting research breakthroughs and media opportunities
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities with confidence and composure
- A strategic approach to audience engagement, with a track record of building and nurturing digital communities
- A genuine interest in medical research, health, or working for a purpose-driven organisation is highly regarded
What we offer
- Flexible working options
- A supportive and passionate team
- The opportunity to make a positive impact in a community-focused organisation with global reach
- The ability to salary package up to $18,550 annually, meaning you can legitimately pay less tax and increase your tax-home pay
- Generous leave benefits, including
- 3 days paid extra leave at the end of the year
- up to 16 weeks paid parental leave
- 2 days of paid cultural and community engagement leave.
Applications close on 08 October 2025 but we’ll begin interviewing as soon as we hear from the right people so be quick
