About the Role

Geraldton Senior High School (SHS) seeks a Program Coordinator – Literacy and Numeracy Specialist who will lead whole‑school literacy and numeracy strategies and intervention programs for Years 7 to 12, aiming to improve outcomes for all students.

This role leads the implementation of the school’s literacy and numeracy plans, ensuring programs are delivered effectively, aligned with WA Curriculum standards, and that data is accurately collected and analysed to inform teaching and student progress.

Responsibilities

- Implement school-wide literacy and numeracy strategies and intervention programs.

- Ensure alignment with WA Curriculum standards and effective delivery of programs.

- Collect and analyse data to inform teaching and student progress.

- Collaborate with the Principal, Deputy Principals, Program Coordinators of Learning Areas and Student Services, and teaching staff to provide educational leadership.

- Promote the school’s vision for academic success and continuous improvement.

- Contribute to school planning, policy development, participative decision‑making and lead change initiatives that enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.

- Manage the school timetable, general program administration, and support workforce development within the school community.

Qualifications

- Experience in high‑level data literacy and diagnostic assessment and intervention programs.

- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships across the school.

- Experience in curriculum development and Special Education Needs planning.

- Ability to engage effectively in collegiate planning and coach teachers to embed literacy and numeracy strategies in classrooms.
