Are you passionate about creating meaningful partnerships that drive positive social impact? We’re seeking a passionate and organised Community Programs Coordinator to lead inclusive community-based activities that enhance wellbeing, independence, and social inclusion for our clients. You’ll collaborate with families, support workers, and community partners to co-design programs that are meaningful, empowering, and aligned with participants’ NDIS goals. This role will suit someone who is organised, proactive and passionate about bringing people together.

Direct Care Resources is a well-established care provider in Southeast Queensland, with a focus on supported independent living, community access, and child protection services. With over 27 years of experience in the industry, the organisation is dedicated to participant care, health, safety, and well‑being. We deliver holistic care to children and young people, with a strong commitment to ensuring they are safe, supported, and empowered to have their voices heard.

Key responsibilities

- Design, plan, and coordinate a diverse range of community participation programs tailored to client interests and abilities.

- Organise meaningful and enjoyable activities based on the collective needs, preferences, and goals with an aim to enhance participants’ individual physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural, and social well‑being.

- Design and deliver inclusive, engaging, and skill‑building activities such as swimming sessions, art and craft workshops, baking classes, and computer literacy programmes.

- Partner with families, support workers, and external organisations to co‑create high‑quality, inclusive and safe programmes.

- Monitor programme outcomes and client engagement to inform continuous improvement.

- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety and legislative standards.

- Coordinate logistics, venues, materials, and staffing.

- Ensure all activities align with DCR’s values, operational standards, and legislative requirements.

- Support staff training and development related to community engagement practices.

About You

You’re an enthusiastic relationship‑builder with a genuine commitment to social inclusion and community empowerment with the ability to turn ideas into action.

Essential skills and experience

- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services, Community Services, Event Management, Business or similar.

- Experience coordinating community, NDIS, or wellbeing programmes.

- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

- Sound understanding of Child protection and NDIS frameworks, person‑centred practice, and safeguarding principles.

- Excellent organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to adhere to client’s privacy and confidentiality.

- Possession of or willingness to obtain:

- Full Australian Driver’s Licence and Own Vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance

- Proof of Covid‑19 Vaccination in accordance with DCR Policy

- Valid and Current First Aid & CPR

- Working With Children Check (QLD Blue Card)

- QLD NDIS Worker Screening Check / Yellow Card

- LCS2 Background and History Check
