Position Information

Box Hill Public School is a new site on Terry Road, Box Hill. The temporary school is located on George Street, Box Hill and opened on Day 1, Term 1, 2025. The school is located in the Northwest Growth Area of Sydney and is expected to experience rapid growth enrolment in the first five years of operation. Box Hill Public School is situated in a culturally diverse area which is driven by a community that values high expectations and learning. The school student enrolments come from 95% non-English speaking background families. The permanent school will have capacity for up to 1,000 students and will include three support classes for students with a disability. It will incorporate innovative, agile teaching and learning areas. Box Hill Public School has a strong focus on explicit teaching based on the science of learning pedagogy. The School currently has an enrolment of 300 K-6 students with an anticipated enrolment of over 500 students in 2026. The position will commence on Day 1, Term 1 2026.

Responsibilities

- Plan, implement and assess quality differentiated literacy and numeracy programs for Infants and Primary (K-6).

- Utilise evidence-based practices with a strong emphasis on explicit teaching pedagogy.

- Create positive, inclusive classrooms with effective behaviour management and wellbeing initiatives to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval and capacity to teach Infants and Primary (K-6) with the ability to plan and deliver quality differentiated literacy and numeracy programs, using evidence-based practices with explicit teaching.

2. Proven ability to create positive, inclusive classrooms by applying effective behaviour management and wellbeing initiatives that enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Remuneration

Total Remuneration Package: up to $151,704.00. Base salary ranges from $87,550.00 to $133,846.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.
