Position Information: Carlingford High School, enrolment 1780 students, including 84% from a non-English speaking background, is a comprehensive co-educational school with a strong commitment to excellence. The delivery of quality literacy programs, student wellbeing programs and the effective use of differentiated teaching strategies are current whole school focus areas. Responsibilities

- Lead a faculty in the exemplary delivery of the Australian Curriculum in Preliminary and HSC science courses.
- Support whole school initiatives and directions as part of the executive team.
- Collaborate to integrate technology into effective classroom practice and support literacy needs of students from a non-English speaking background.
- Manage resources to support teaching and learning and contribute to staff development and performance improvement.

Qualifications and Selection Criteria

- Specific Selection Criteria: Applicants must meet teacher training and academic qualification requirements; approval to teach 7-10 science, chemistry and/or physics; willingness to teach biology; capacity to integrate technology; understanding of literacy needs of NESB students; ability to cater for high-potential and gifted students; capacity to lead a faculty in exemplary delivery of the Australian Curriculum and in Preliminary and HSC science courses; willingness to work collaboratively as part of an executive team and support whole school directions.
- General Selection Criteria: Successful teaching experience with ability to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice; knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with leadership to design inclusive programs; educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage performance; well-developed communication and interpersonal skills; ability to plan and manage resources; knowledge of and commitment to the Department/'s Aboriginal education policy.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
