As Peninsula Health prepares to merge with Alfred Health, Kooweerup, Bass Coast and Gippsland Southern Health to form Bayside Health, Peninsula Health is expanding services with a new clinical services tower and greater capacity to meet the evolving needs of our region.

We are now seeking a visionary Clinical Director of Radiology, Peninsula Health to lead this next phase shaping excellence in imaging services and contributing to the future of healthcare in Victoria.

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Clinical Director of Radiology to lead our radiology services and foster a culture of excellence, clinical governance, and innovation. This is a unique opportunity for a senior radiologist with proven leadership and clinical experience to make a significant impact on service delivery, quality of care, and strategic development within a leading health provider.

Working closely with our executive and clinical teams, the Clinical Director will be responsible for overseeing the quality and performance of radiology services, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, and maintaining strong clinical communication between radiologists and the hospital. The role combines clinical oversight, strategic management, staff supervision, and a focus on continuous improvement and patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise all radiologists to ensure high standards of clinical and non-clinical service delivery.
- Provide medical oversight and governance of radiology services, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to hospital protocols and standards.
- Manage credentialing, accreditation, and performance evaluation of radiologists.
- Support the hospital in strategic planning and development of imaging services aligned with clinical service plans.
- Monitor and ensure performance against key targets, including turnaround times and performance indicators.
- Actively participate in governance and leadership forums including Executive, Operational, and Clinical meetings.
- Represent radiology in hospital committees related to quality, safety, education, and clinical governance.
- Advise on diagnostic protocols, equipment needs, ordering practices, and service improvements.
- Promote education, training, research, and academic contributions within medical imaging services.
- Coordinate leave planning and ensure appropriate leadership coverage to maintain service continuity.

What We're Looking For

- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) and current registration with AHPRA.
- Significant post-fellowship experience in radiology, with demonstrated leadership in a clinical or academic setting.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage service delivery in a complex healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and accreditation processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, training, and research in medical imaging.
