Overview

Your Opportunity: Join our team as an Allied Health Assistant supporting Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to deliver high-quality care in Residential Aged Care settings. Your role will include both hands-on clinical work and essential admin tasks.

You’ll assist in delivering evidence-based care through mobility and functional activities, one-on-one sessions, group-based active ageing programs, and care plan follow-ups.

Responsibilities

- Assist in delivering physiotherapy services in accordance with the Plena Healthcare operating procedures and policies.
- Serve RAC clients in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals treatment plan.
- Under the direction of the physiotherapists/occupational therapists, transport residents to and from the therapy gym area or appointments.
- Set up and pack away the physiotherapy gym, including cleaning both the area and equipment.
- Collect referrals and other administrative tasks as guided by the physiotherapists.
- Order prescribed equipment.
- Run exercise groups/programs.
- Support initiatives to meet client/contract expectations.
- Consult with the physiotherapist/occupational therapist in relation to adaptations/changes/progressions of treatment plans for clients as appropriate.
- Participate in mentoring, supervision and appraisals in line with Plena Healthcare’s policy and procedure.
