The Opportunity

Uralla Shire Council is seeking a collaborative and service-oriented Group Support Officer to join our Corporate Services team. Reporting to the Group Manager Corporate Services, this vital role supports internal teams and contributes to the smooth functioning of Council operations by providing high-level administrative assistance, coordinating meetings and events, and facilitating strategic initiatives.

You’ll work closely with staff and stakeholders to deliver efficient, respectful, and responsive service that reflects Council’s commitment to unity, safety, and delivering meaningful outcomes for the Uralla community. From managing committee secretariat duties to supporting civic functions and customer enquiries, your contribution will help strengthen Council’s service delivery and foster positive community impact.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III in Business Administration or have equivalent experience in administration and/or customer services. Experience working within the NSW Local Government industry would be highly regarded.

They will have a high level of quality customer service, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Advanced word processing skills and knowledge across a range of software applications including desktop publishing, spreadsheets and database software is essential.
