About the Opportunity

This role reports to the Finance Manager and works as part of a team of financial and management accountants. You will be responsible the following:

- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage the external audit requirements of the company.
- Review and improve internal financial controls and processes to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Advise on technical accounting and compliance issues.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including reconciliations, variance analysis and forecasting.
- Prepare cash flow forecasting to assist with the company’s working capital management.
- Play a key role in ensuring all tax reporting obligations are met in accordance with all tax laws.
- Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, and external regulatory bodies.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other finance team members.
- Complete ad-hoc finance tasks and projects as required.

About the Person

To be considered for this role, you will have exposure to the complexities of a large publicly listed company. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to challenge and educate non-finance stakeholders. Complemented by the following:

- Self-motivated and a problem solver;
- Strong communication and analytical skills;
- Demonstrated achievement in driving change through process improvement;
- Proven ability to advise on technical accounting issues and standards;
- Tertiary qualified in Business or Commerce essential;
- CPA/CA qualified essential;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
