Exciting opportunity for Program Officer with contract management and financial analysis experience in State Government on a contract/temporary basis.

Currently seeking a Program Officer with a strong contracts management and financial background to join a dedicated Disaster Recovery team. In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end contract administration and work collaboratively with internal teams and funded organisations to ensure efficient, compliant and transparent delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage contracts end-to-end ensuring compliance with Queensland Government systems, policies and DRFA requirements.

- Review financial reports and service outcomes to validate performance and proper use of funds.

- Work with Procurement and Grants Management to design and implement effective contract management plans.

- Provide clear advice to funded organisations and departmental teams on contract obligations and DRFA guidelines.

- Conduct financial and compliance assessments identifying and addressing risks promptly.

- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across government and the community sector.

- Maintain up-to-date records, trackers, and reports, and respond to audit and performance queries as required.

- Escalate and resolve contract issues diplomatically to preserve positive working relationships.

- Represent the department in stakeholder forums and contribute to program discussions.

- Prepare professional written materials including briefings, reports, and correspondence.

About You

- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end contract management (ideally within human or social services).

- Strong financial literacy with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.

- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.

- Strong stakeholder engagement experience with the ability to influence outcomes.

- Advanced problem‑solving and critical‑thinking capability.

- (Desirable) Experience with procurement or grant management frameworks.

- (Desirable) Knowledge of DRFA and Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements, or the ability to quickly acquire this understanding.
