Asiaworld Shipping Services Pty Ltd is an Australian owned business whose activities include ship agency, primarily for multipurpose ships and break-bulk cargo. Other activities include ship broking, vessel sales and purchase broking, ship management and equipment manufacture. The company is managed directly by its owners and has committed and motivated staff.

We have a vacancy for an experienced Shipping Imports Administrator.

Duties:

1. Processing of import manifests
2. Generating arrival notices
3. Freight and local charges invoicing
4. Ensuring freight and charges are collected
5. Arranging the release of cargo

The position involves interaction with consignees and their agents, ship owners and operators in Europe, Asia and North America, and with the company’s shipbrokers and agency staff.

You will have excellent communication skills, an ability to foresee and prevent problems arising, strong personal organisation, reliability with deadlines, and be able to work on your own initiative. You will have a good understanding of shipping procedures and documentation and Excel skills to at least intermediate level.

A competitive salary will be negotiated that will initially include an annual discretionary bonus. After a two-year qualifying period, you will be paid a profit share bonus twice yearly and have salary continuance insurance cover paid by the company.

Office location is at Artarmon on Sydney’s north shore; however, we will consider applicants who can work out of one of our other offices in Brisbane, Fremantle or Melbourne with some attendance at Artarmon required initially. We will be able to come to an agreement with the right candidate that allows for significant work from home if needed.
