Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a commercial grounds maintenance contract, focusing on mowing and horticulture management for one of Melbourne’s largest municipalities in the outer‑northern suburbs.

This permanent full‑time position is based in Epping, VIC and presents an opportunity to employ your groundskeeping knowledge and management experience while having a meaningful impact at work with an organisation that supports balancing your passions.

Key Responsibilities

Leveraging your strong operations background and business acumen, your key responsibilities will be to:

- Oversee daily operations in horticulture & mowing.

- Coach, mentor and lead the operations team.

- Create & maintain schedules & annual service plans.

- Deliver exceptional customer relationship management.

- Partner with clients and operations team to achieve new growth objectives.

- Support the preparation of financial budgets & forecasts

- Continually improve strategies and processes to increase performance & efficiency.

- Promote and develop a safety culture across the business.

About You

To excel in this role, you will be a motivated professional with a ‘can‑do’ attitude, a proactive approach in people engagement and drive for operational excellence.

A background or strong knowledge of the Open Space / Horticulture industry and maintenance services is also highly desirable.

Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

- Proven experience in managing large teams for grounds and open space maintenance contracts.

- Proven expertise in developing and executing schedules.

- Highly developed communication and strong stakeholder engagement ability.

- Proactive approach to relationship management and business development.
