South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager - Mental Health to join Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH). FSH is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including rehabilitation, cancer care, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, mental health, and specialised services.
SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services across a catchment area of more than 3300 square kilometres in the southern half of Perth. Our vision is Excellent health care, every time.
Responsibilities
The Nurse Unit Manager leads and manages Nursing/Midwifery to deliver evidence-based care and achieve optimal patient outcomes within allocated resources. Responsibilities include improving and maintaining standards, developing solutions, and delivering outcomes aligned with service and organisational priorities. As a key leader in the interdisciplinary team, the role ensures delivery of patient-centred care against key performance indicators: quality, budget, and human resources. Provides consultation and liaison within their area of expertise to internal and external customers.
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant nursing/midwifery qualifications and experience in mental health; ability to lead a multidisciplinary team; capacity to manage resources and contribute to service improvement and patient outcomes.

Salary and Benefits
Salary: SRN Level 4, from $135,851 per annum. Benefits may include Professional Development opportunities, study leave/assistance, flexible working arrangements and location-based allowances.
Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa for fixed-term appointments or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia for permanent appointments. The vacancy requires a Western Australian Working With Children Check where applicable, and may require criminal records screening, integrity checks, and a pre-employment health assessment.
