PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Assist with maintaining high levels of data integrity within the department’s Asset Management System (AMS) to ensure a high-quality user experience across asset-related computer-based applications and provide customer support.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Support the day-to-day data operations of the AMS system, including AMS Data updating through standard processes, Data Reconciliation with other Systems, Data Reporting through direct Oracle database queries and Spatial queries in ArcGIS.

- Support the supply, update, and quality of graphic and textual data from DFSI and other external data providers.

- Test and update AMS data to ensure the accuracy, currency, and integrity of data within the asset management systems.

- Assist users in the use of systems to ensure data integrity and timeliness.

- Assist users on Data issues request as per registered on the User request ticketing system.

- Perform complex extracts of asset data to support the preparation of correspondence, briefings and submissions on complex matters.

- Provide corporate and asset staff with complex spatial and aspatial information extracts from the AMS database files.

- Provide spatial data process and extractions using AMS Spatial tools and ArcGIS as per request.

- Provide training and deliver help desk facilities to all AMS users.

- Investigate, resolve, and report data integrity issues and system maintenance to ensure continuous improvement.

- Actively develop and maintain skills in current business processes and computer systems.

- Hands on experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle or SQL Server or PostgreSQL and also understanding of Oracle Spatial or SQL Server Spatial or PostGIS.

- Ability to write, analyse and debug SQL queries and stored procedures (T-SQL, PL/SQL), including spatial data queries that may involve joins, indexing, and geospatial calculations.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Tertiary qualifications in information technology, business management or related fields and/or equivalent experience.

- Qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Spatial data and systems.

- Experience in Asset Data Management.

- Quickly learns and adapts to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Skilled in document control and effective records management.
