Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) enforces the NSW water laws and offers guidance and education to help water users comply. NRAR is seeking to appoint a Specialist Manager Operational Technology & Design in an ongoing capacity.
About You
Lead NRAR's strategic technology function, including development of the governance framework, principles and life cycle management processes that guide decisions about field technology and related business systems to support successful implementation and advancement. Build and lead a team responsible for delivering operational technology solutions and services to NRAR's compliance teams, including the operation of specialist equipment in field. The role will also provide design expertise, influence and specialist advice on the scoping and selection of technology that has the potential to impact compliance with and regulation of natural resources legislation in NSW.
Key accountabilities include:
- Shape NRAR's operational technology vision and strategy, driving innovation, effectiveness, and alignment with organisational goals.
- Lead technology planning, governance, and investment decisions to support regulatory, compliance, and business outcomes.
- Partner across NRAR to identify needs and implement fit-for-purpose technologies that enhance safety, field operations, and data-driven decision-making.
- Provide expert technical and strategic advice to ensure system integrity, security, and performance.
- Lead a high-performing, geographically dispersed team to deliver effective and reliable technology solutions.
- Build strong partnerships with agencies, industry, and professional networks to influence technology design, integration, and adoption.
- Champion NRAR's technological advancements and represent the organisation in senior and cross-jurisdictional forums to enhance confidence and collaboration.
Knowledge & Experience
- Extensive experience in natural resources management
- Extensive experience in operational technology and design
- Experience providing specialist technical evidence for investigations and/or prosecutions
