Join a visionary team driving strategic fundraising initiatives that fuel research, innovation, and student success. As Manager, Foundation and Corporate Philanthropy, you’ll be at the forefront of cultivating high-impact relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners, helping to unlock transformative gifts that align with UQ’s bold ambitions.
This role leads major gift fundraising across interdisciplinary projects, partnering with UQ-affiliated entities and external organisations to advance University-wide priorities. You’ll design bespoke cultivation strategies, steward institutional donors, and collaborate with internal teams to amplify philanthropic outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to engage institutional donors aligned with UQ’s mission.
- Collaborate across Advancement, Research Partnerships, and University offices to coordinate donor engagement.
- Conduct strategic research on philanthropic organisations to identify resonance with UQ’s social-impact initiatives.
- Provide expert advice and lead fundraising efforts for priority projects.
- Represent UQ in external philanthropic forums and build enduring relationships with benefactors.
There may be after hours/weekend work and travel as necessary to develop donor relationships.

About You
- Qualifications and training equivalent a postgraduate degree in a field relevant to fundraising and philanthropy, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of the principles of philanthropy and fundraising and an awareness of the Australian fundraising environment, philanthropy and its application to research institutes and universities.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing and administering strategic fundraising programs with a proven ability to effectively manage complex projects to achieve strategic goals.
- Excellent qualities in negotiation, tact, diplomacy and an ability to maintain confidentiality, with a highly developed awareness of ethical issues pertaining to Advancement work, superior interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships at all levels.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, with a commitment to quality outcomes, the ability to work under pressure and establish priorities regarding workload and to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience in providing high quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including managing and maintaining key networks and relationships across tertiary, research, corporate, industry environments, and negotiating and settling complex issues.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate corporate and research information to the academic and general community.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check.
