Remuneration: $109,157 to $118,193 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $92,239 to $99,875 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Location: Both Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses

Open to: Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander people. For this position it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted by and arguable under sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act (1991).

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a Indigenous Australian Student Success Coach (2 positions available) to join Oodgeroo Unit, Indigenous Australians, Chancellery Division.

At QUT, where one of the largest Indigenous Australian student communities thrives, your role is to walk alongside students from orientation to graduation. As the Indigenous Australian Student Success Coach, you will deliver high quality pastoral care and services for Indigenous Australian students to resolve personal challenges and ensure a positive student experience. You’ll empower sovereign voices and assist students to succeed through a case management approach. What you need to succeed

1. Completion of or extensive progress towards undergraduate qualifications in education, training or social sciences with relevant experience working in these fields.

2. Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous Australian peoples and their communities.

3. Demonstrated understanding of the challenges Indigenous Australian students encounter in higher education and a thorough knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, Higher Education policies and legislation together with the proven ability to interpret, apply and act in accordance with relevant policies, practices and procedures to deliver high quality academic support services.

4. Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and nurture strong relationships with a range of partners to deliver and improve student centric support services that enrich the student experience

5. High level of interpersonal, organisation and communication skills including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders to positively influence decision making.

6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team, apply initiative, exercise judgement, prioritise objectives and deliver results.
