Product Governance Specialist - General Insurance

Zurich is seeking a Product Governance Specialist to safeguard the integrity of product offerings with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, particularly around Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO). The role involves implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving Zurich’s product governance frameworks to meet external regulations and internal standards. A key aspect is proactively identifying how evolving regulatory requirements affect Zurich’s general insurance products. The Product Manager oversees compliance processes, such as Target Market Determination (TMD) assessments, and ensures accurate record-keeping to support these activities.

Data gathering and analysis are central to this role, supporting regulatory compliance and the ongoing enhancement of governance frameworks. The Product Manager creates, maintains, and regularly reviews governance-related policy and process documentation to ensure clarity and effectiveness. The role also prepares and leads regular meetings to monitor product outcomes, provide actionable recommendations, and support product initiatives with a strong governance perspective. Collaboration with colleagues across Zurich and external partners is essential to promote robust governance practices throughout the organisation.

Important to your success – let’s grow together

- At least 3 years’ relevant experience in general insurance regulation or a related field with a solid understanding of general insurance products and distribution channels.
- Background in financial services, regulatory, or similar sectors, with experience implementing reforms like RG274.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO), ideally within general insurance.
- Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills; able to navigate complex tasks independently.
- Comfortable with challenge and ambiguity; driven to maintain product integrity.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of influencing stakeholders.
- Proven commitment to continuous improvement and adopting new work practices.
- Skilled in data analysis to identify trends affecting consumer outcomes and product performance.
- Excellent written communication skills, including drafting governance frameworks and guidelines.
