Overview

We are working with a rapidly growing Sydney-based company who are scaling their security function to match rapid growth and increasing production demands. This is a hands-on opportunity for an AWS-focused Senior Security Engineer who thrives in a dynamic product-focused environment and wants to shape the future of cloud security.

This is not a DevOps role with a security twist; it’s a security-first engineering position for someone who’s passionate about protecting infrastructure and applications at scale across the whole SDLC. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and contribute directly to the evolution of internal tooling and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

- Strong experience with AWS security tools (GuardDuty, Security Hub, Shield)
- Understanding of vulnerability management tooling
- Experience designing and implementing IAM solutions with AWS
- Maintenance of security policies and standards for audits & compliance
- Skilled with both Terraform and CloudFormation for IaC
- Deployment experience with Kubernetes and scripting with Python/Bash
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience

Responsibilities

- Own security engineering across AWS environments and ensure security controls align with product needs and SDLC
- Design, implement, and maintain security tooling, governance, and compliance frameworks
- Collaborate with senior leadership and engineering teams to evolve security roadmaps
- Protect infrastructure and applications at scale, including automation and IaC practices
