CAMHS Neuro ADHD Nurse Prescriber

The closing date is 27 October 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Prescriber to work within the Cambridge CAMHS Neurodevelopmental team. We would consider offering this as a Band 6 moving to Band 7 on successful completion of non-medical prescriber training which the Trust will support.

We work with children and young people with moderate to severe mental health disorders with comorbid ASD, LD and ADHD, providing comprehensive assessment and intervention. This role would mainly work within the ADHD pathway, however there will also be opportunities for development in other pathways. We are looking for an individual who is interested and passionate about working with young people in a CAMHS setting. We provide neurodevelopmental assessments and post-diagnostic support to young people and their families, including ADHD medication prescribing and monitoring, and psychoeducation. You will receive clinical supervision relevant to your role. We have a monthly CPD programme and regular MDT reflective meetings. You will join a supportive team who are passionate about making a difference to young people and their families.

If you are looking for a new challenge, enjoy variety in your work and wish to be part of a multidisciplinary team striving to make a difference for our community by supporting young people and their families, then we want to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

To provide an evidence-based therapy service to children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities in the Neurodevelopmental Service CAMHS which is part of the Children, Young People and Families Directorate in CPFT.

Patients will be managed on a community basis; providing assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders and/or comorbid mental health disorder and evidence-based therapy.

At the same time as offering advice and consultation on patient's mental health care to colleagues and partner agencies and to other non-professional carers.

To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's and Trust's policies and procedures.
