North Sydney Council, Australia Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia Full time

Are you passionate about creating vibrant community experiences? If you love bringing people together and creating unforgettable experiences, we want you on our team

North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Events Officer to plan, coordinate, and deliver a fantastic lineup of events across the North Sydney Local Government Area.

You’ll be at the heart of the action — helping to bring to life everything from lively street festivals and community markets at The Coal Loader to important Citizenship and Award Ceremonies. Working closely with Council teams and community partners, you’ll manage every detail, making sure events run smoothly and leave everyone with a smile.

This role is perfect if you’re organized, love juggling logistics, and enjoy working with lots of different people. You’ll be managing stakeholder relationships, keeping an eye on risk assessments, and collaborating across teams to create events that celebrate culture, creativity, and connection.

From dreaming up event ideas to wrapping up with a post-event review, you’ll be involved in every step of the journey — making sure North Sydney’s events are nothing short of spectacular.

The person

You’re a natural organiser with a passion for people and a knack for turning ideas into amazing experiences. You thrive in busy environments, love collaborating with different teams, and enjoy building strong relationships with community members and stakeholders. You are creative, proactive, detail-focused and will bring energy and positivity to every project

Why work at NSC?

We're committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and positive workplace. Our teams are reflective of the communities in which we operate, and we value the unique contribution each member makes to the North Sydney Council. The work we do makes a real difference to the lives of our residents and contributes to their economic and social wellbeing.

North Sydney Council as an employer offers excellent employee benefits such as:

- Easy accessibility to work with spectacular harbour view work locations
- Access to Fitness Passport
- Excellent work-life balance with a 35-hour working week for indoor employees or fortnightly RDO’s for outdoor employees
- Flexible working hours with access to flexi-time for indoor employees
- Freedom to direct contributions to any compliant superannuation fund
- A holistic health and well-being program offering exercise classes, flu vaccinations, skin checks
- Access to employee recognition and reward program
- Weekly fruit baskets
- Free access to counselling sessions through our Employee Assistance Program
- Free financial advice by a certified Financial Planner
- Monetary transport allowance
- Invitations to local government events, training and planning sessions
- Access to corporate social events at picturesque harbour locations
- Close locale to transport options including train, bus, metro and bike ways

If you’re ready to bring your energy and event know-how to a role that’s all about community, creativity, and fun, we want to hear from you
