Our client is a large, diverse financial services firm seeking a Capital Markets Trading Support Analyst to join their Sydney office, working with a global production support team, responsible for day-to-day production regional support for Capital Markets Brokerage Trading Applications.
This position requires OMS [Order Management Systems] experience, with direct experience working in support of an investment banking or capital markets trading floor.
This role will be hired on an initial 9-12month contract paying a daily rate circa $80 – 95 per day, including super.
Scope of Work
Our client is seeking candidates to join their Capital Markets team within their Asset Servicing arm, in a Production Support capacity at the Analyst level. The successful candidate would be one that can work independently within a global production support team, responsible for day-to-day regional support for Capital Markets Brokerage Trading Applications.
Trading Desk IT Analysts are responsible for 24×7 production support across the globe (APAC, EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and North America) for various Capital Market applications. This role is part of a global support team in a follow the sun model, supporting business and operational partners and liaising with upstream and downstream application teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Trading Desk IT Analyst is responsible for technical and functional desk support across multiple technologies used by Brokerage Capital Market applications.
- Supporting business and operations partners and clients, and liaising with upstream and downstream application teams.
- Candidates should be available Monday – Friday, along with expectations of escalation from the business and/or team members.
- The candidate needs to have a good understanding and /or functional expertise in brokerage or any other OMS (Order Management System) trading support functions.
- The Candidate is expected to be located in Sydney and work on the trading floor in the Sydney office a minimum of 5 days a week.
The ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of various technologies in a financial institution, including trade applications.
Required Skills/Experience
- Previous financial markets experience required – ideally OMS experience in direct support of a trading team.
- Ability to speak to traders confidently – excellent oral and written communication skills and solid understanding of technologies in financial institutions, including trade applications, required.
- 1-2 years of FIX Protocol experience required.
- Reasonably in-depth functional and/or industry knowledge – Brokerage / Security Finance – required.
- ~3-7 years of work experience in any OMS, ideally Flextrade, highly regarded.
- Experience working in Onsite/Offshore models, in particular supporting APAC, UK, and US business lines.
- Experience in incident management, understanding of ticket workflows and use of escalation. Experience with ServiceNow/ITIL Methodologies is mandatory.
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change with Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem resolution in an analytical and logical manner, to troubleshoot root cause and resolve production incidents.
This position will pay an high hourly rate of $80 – 95 per hour [including super] dependent on prior experience. Successful candidates will be employed as an on-site contractor via Anton Murray Consulting on-site with our client.
