At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Clinical Lead - Mental Health to join the Whole Family Team (WFT), part of CCLHD’s integrated Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Service.

About the Opportunity

As the Clinical Lead - Mental Health, you will work alongside the Clinical Lead - Drug and Alcohol to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and education to a multidisciplinary team of dedicated clinicians.

The Whole Family Team provides intensive, family-focused therapeutic support to vulnerable families across the Central Coast, where parental mental health and/or substance use places children at risk of significant harm (ROSH). Working in close partnership with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), WFT delivers trauma-informed interventions - most often in the home - to help parents strengthen their parenting capacity and family functioning so children can safely remain with their families.

Thisrole is suitable for the following - Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2, Occupational Therapist Level 4, Senior Psychologist, Social Worker Level 4.

In this role you will:

- Provide expert clinical leadership, supervision, and mentoring to the Whole Family Team.

- Support the development and delivery of evidence‑based, trauma‑informed, and culturally safe interventions for families.

- Manage a clinical caseload and provide specialist mental health assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to promote a supportive environment.

- Lead quality improvement initiatives, professional development, and clinical research activities.

- Contribute to service innovation that aligns with the NSW Health PARVAN Framework, policies, and best practice standards.

- A tertiary qualification and full registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Nurse, or Psychologist, or eligibility for AASW membership as a Social Worker.

- Strong expertise in mental health assessment and intervention, with experience supporting families where parental mental health and/or substance use affects child wellbeing.

- Proven leadership and clinical supervision skills, with the ability to guide, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team.

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience building effective partnerships across health, community, and government sectors.

- Committed to teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.

- A commitment to continuous improvement, demonstrated through leading quality initiatives and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge in leadership and mental health practice.

Applicants must have current work rights in Australia or be a permanent resident or citizen. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applicants who do not meet this requirement.

- Work‑Life Balance: Enjoy an accrued day off each month, 17.5% annual leave loading, and paid parental leave.

- Financial Benefits: Boost your take‑home pay with salary packaging, save on car costs with novated leasing, and access relocation assistance.

- Health & Wellbeing: Stay active with discounted gym memberships (Fitness Passport), free flu vaccinations, telehealth support, and confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselling for you and your family. Plus, access discounted private health insurance.

- Career Growth: Advance your career with free professional development courses and secondment opportunities.
