About the role Being a trainee means working alongside experienced Teachers and Educators, learning on the job, and earning while you learn. You will attend class 1 day a week to complete your qualification while also working at a day care service. As our new Early Childhood Educator Trainee, working with children between 3 – 6 years old, it is your role to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the centre community. You will be intrinsically motivated to support and guide children's learning, while developing your own career and knowledge within the early childhood sector. You will support children in their development and physical care whilst learning about practice through nurturing relationships and positive interactions. As a valued member of the team, you will support educators to observe and document children's learning and development and assist in the day-to-day operation of the room. What we're looking for To be the successful applicant for this position you will need to: - Be passionate about providing a secure and supportive environment for the needs of young children in care. - Will have strong communications skills - Be flexible - Work as part of a team. - Have the ability to follow directions. - Have the ability and commitment to maintain confidentiality - Communicate clearly and positively with staff, parents, children, and the public. - Have basic skills in managing time, planning and organising your own work - Have basic skills in the use of computer information systems You will learn and be responsible for the following In this role, you will learn and perform a variety of duties that are essential to the smooth operation of the day care facility. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Be able to accept guidance from others and work well in a team situation - Assist with maintaining records and provide relevant information for the children's program. - Promote and provide healthy food and drinks - Use information about children to inform best practice - Be aware of the impact of environment and energy sustainability and assist with recycling and consideration of resources within the centre. - Ensure confidentiality is always maintained - Promote innovation in a team environment - Actively assist and participate in the planning, preparation, implementation and clearing away activities. - Develop positive and respectful relationships with children Requirements - Must have, or be willing to obtain, a current Working with Children Check and National Police Check - Drivers License (Not essential) - Previous experience with young children would be an advantage - Commitment and ability to participate and complete a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education whilst working - Must be able to work well with others and demonstrate appropriate behaviour and cooperation working within a small team " #J-18808-Ljbffr
