What You’ll do (the role)

SUMMARY

Leading, structuring and negotiating Lightsource bp’s financings through both project level and corporate level debt, as well as leading asset acquisitions and divestments across our operational jurisdictions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

- Acting as day‑to‑day lead on project and portfolio financing’s

- Analysis of preferred financing solutions on individual asset/portfolio basis

- Supporting regional development teams in project procurement and contracting strategy to ensure bankable solutions, whilst highlighting key deal issues and areas of exposure

- Supporting PPA teams to ensure bankable project offerings in competitive tender processes

- Leading and negotiating competitive financing processes from RfP stage to Financial Close, through to conditions discharge

- Analysis and implementation of project specific hedging requirements, through FX/Inflation/IRS products

- Scoping and management of required project advisors in conjunction with cross‑functional support

- Review and analysis of Senior Level Financing documentation

- Production and review of required Information Memorandums and Internal Approval papers

- Establishing a collaborative relationship with LSbp lenders for additional ancillary services required of Senior Project Financing.

- Acting as day‑to‑day lead on Corporate Financing transactions

- Leading and negotiating competitive financing processes from RfP stage to Financial Close

- Review and Analysis of financing agreements and guarantee structures

- Establishing a collaborative relationship with LSbp core lender group

Acquisitions and Divestments

- Acting as day‑to‑day lead on strategic asset/portfolio acquisitions/divestments

- Analysis of asset valuation

- Implementation of asset optimisation in preparation for divestment

- Leading investor due diligence processes and coordinating with external advisors where required

- Leading and negotiating asset acquisition/sale price discussions

- Review and analysis of Share and Purchase Agreements, including warranty and indemnity packages

Teamwork, Training and Communication Skills

- Supporting Director’s and Senior Executive team members

- Manage individual and team workload, allocating resources appropriately as well as supervising/reviewing the work of junior team members

- Provide feedback on team members and ensure training is attended where appropriate

- Proactively manage professional development, not solely concentrating on technical skills but also soft‑core skills of negotiating, positioning and influencing

Technical Skills

- Take responsibility to be familiar with latest technical developments and relevant legal, regulatory, accounting and taxation developments

- Able to run pro‑forma financial models including DCF, comp comparables, equity placement, and merger and acquisition modeling

- Able to draft and prepare presentation materials including deal teasers, management presentations, deal pipeline books, and other supporting documentation and analysis

- Capable in excel, word, and powerpoint

Who we’re looking for

EXPERIENCE

- 6‑8 years of experience preferably with a lender/Investor active in the infrastructure and energy finance space internationally, or with an IPP/vertically integrated developer

PERSONAL/WORK SKILLS

- Problem solving and proactive attitude

- Detailed oriented and well organised

- Able to work efficiently and effectively under the pressure of tight deadlines

- Fluency in English is essential
