We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

About us
Ngamai Wilam is anewly built 12-bed residential eating disorder treatment facility in Armadale, which opened inJuly 2025. Jointly funded by the Australian Federal Government and the Victorian Government, this specialist statewide service is managed by Alfred Health.
The service provides 24/7 trauma-informed, recovery-focused care for adults aged 18 and over, in an agender-inclusive, home-like therapeutic environment. With a strong focus on family and chosen supports, Ngamai Wilam is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes long-term recovery.
About the role
As a Ward Clerk, you will:
- Support the smooth coordination of clerical and administrative functions within Ngamai Wilam, working closely with the Facility Manager and broader team.
- Assist with participant and visitor enquiries, ensuring a welcoming and organised environment that supports recovery-focused care.
- Contribute to excellent customer service by helping maintain efficient systems and processes that underpin the daily operations of the program.
About You
- Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Email)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and/or clinical practice
- Understanding, knowledge or experience of eating disorders
- Australian working rights and current Influenza vaccination
- Current Working with Children Check, and be willing to undergo a Background Check
Desirable
- Certificate II in Business Administration or equivalent.
- Formal training in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel).
- Experience/background in a health care setting.
- Experience with Health Information systems (iPM, CMI, Cerner)
