The company

CAE Australia Flight Training, a leading aviation training provider located at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne. We are seeking a Flight Training Support Coordinator to join our team and contribute to the safe, efficient, and seamless delivery of our training programs based at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne.

About the Role

As the Flight Training Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring flight operations to maximise production hours, optimise instructor workloads, and drive student progression—all while ensuring compliance and safety standards are met. You’ll work closely with instructors, program managers, and other stakeholders to keep training on track and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and adjust daily schedules to meet production targets and achieve monthly flying hours.
- Monitor live schedules to maximise resource utilisation and operational efficiency.
- Manage instructor and casual staff rosters, bookings, and workloads.
- Review and authorise casual timesheets for payroll accuracy.
- Track student progress and liaise with Program Management Teams to ensure timely flight bookings.
- Provide clear communication and timely responses to unplanned operational changes.
- Analyse scheduling reports and recommend process improvements.
- Provide coverage for the Dispatch desk when needed to ensure continuous operational support.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume training environment.

- Previous experience in scheduling, coordination, or operations within a training or educational organisation.
- Aviation industry experience highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work both independently and as part of a team, and maintain high attention to detail.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in aviation, business, safety, or quality management will be an advantage.
