As one of Queensland's earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents:to conserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for future generations.
About the Role
As a Cook at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, you will assist with a variety of tasks ranging from food preparation and cooking for a cafe menu serving breakfast & lunch, group catering preparation for functions and events to baking of in-house goods such as pies, cakes, muffins, and slices.
You will ensure food products are stored, prepared, and served safely in accordance with restaurant and government food safety policies. There will be occasional night work for functions and events as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring experience in a commercial kitchen environment, strong attention to detail, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Experience in fast-paced food preparation with a strong focus on food safety
Ability to work flexibly across a 7- day roster including mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays
Strong time management and ability to stay calm under pressure
Willingness to take initiative and work collaboratively
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery will be highly regarded
