About the Role

Australia's electricity market is rapidly evolving with increasing demand for flexible grid services, peak demand management, and customer participation in energy markets. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Analyst to join their Demand Response team and drive analytical insights that optimise demand response programmes and enhance customer value propositions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical professional with energy market experience to contribute to innovative demand response solutions whilst working with cutting-edge customer technologies and grid services. You will work closely with commercial teams, customer solutions specialists, and grid operations professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop analytical models for demand response forecasting, customer segmentation, and programme optimisation
- Monitor and evaluate customer demand patterns, peak load events, and grid service opportunities
- Support commercial analysis for demand response product development and customer acquisition strategies
- Analyse market opportunities in FCAS markets, wholesale demand response, and network support services
- Prepare performance reports and insights for senior management and regulatory submissions
- Conduct customer data analysis to identify demand response opportunities and improve targeting
- Support pricing analysis and revenue optimisation for demand response programmes
- Collaborate with customer experience teams to enhance demand response customer journeys
- Monitor regulatory developments and market rule changes affecting demand response markets
- Assist with business case development for new demand response products and services
- Provide analytical support for AEMO market participation and grid service delivery

What You'll Bring

Our client is seeking a candidate who has:

- Professional with experience in energy market analysis, demand response, or customer analytics
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools including Excel, SQL, Python, or R
- Understanding of electricity markets, demand response mechanisms, and grid services
- Experience with customer data analysis, segmentation, and programme performance measurement
- Knowledge of NEM operations, FCAS markets, and wholesale electricity market dynamics
- Excellent quantitative and statistical analysis capabilities
- Strong communication skills with ability to present complex analysis to diverse stakeholders
- Commercial acumen and understanding of customer value propositions and business models
- Proactive approach with genuine interest in energy innovation and customer solutions
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams

Highly Regarded

- Degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, data science, or related analytical discipline
- Experience with demand response programmes, virtual power plants, or distributed energy resources
- Understanding of customer behaviour analysis, energy usage patterns, and residential energy markets
- Professional qualifications in data analysis, energy markets, or project management
- Experience with energy retail, customer solutions, or grid services business models
