13th August, 2025
Are you a strategic thinker who thrives on blending data, creativity, and commercial acumen to deliver exceptional results? We're looking for a Merchandise Manager to own and grow one of our most important product categories, driving sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction across both our retail stores and online channels.
This role is central to our success, sitting at the heart of our brand and product strategy, supplier partnerships, and customer experience. You're the global trend hunter - shaping category direction, identifying emerging brands and staying ahead of customer and industry trends.
About the Role
As Merchandise Manager, you will lead the strategic direction and commercial performance of your category, owning it end-to-end. You'll set the vision, identify growth opportunities through deep market and customer insight, and translate strategy into actionable plans that deliver measurable results.
Your week could see you negotiating high-value supplier agreements, shaping multi-channel go-to-market strategies, reviewing category performance against key commercial metrics, and optimising assortment to strengthen our competitive position.
This is a pivotal leadership role where you will balance strategic foresight with decisive execution, ensuring every initiative aligns with our brand, drives profitability, and elevates the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with company growth targets
- Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activity to uncover opportunities and mitigate risks
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms, speed to market, promotional support and trade spend
- Partner with planning and supply teams to optimise inventory levels and avoid out-of-stocks
- Collaborate with marketing to create compelling category campaigns and in-store experiences
- Monitor category performance and take proactive action to hit sales, margin, and growth targets
- Ensure consistent execution across online and in-store merchandising, including planograms and product placement
- Use insights from customer and market data to continually refine and optimise the category

You thrive in a fast-paced retail environment where priorities can shift quickly, and you know how to stay focused on results without losing sight of the customer experience.

You don't just follow trends — you use data and insight to decide which ones to invest in.
You bring:
- 5+ years' experience in merchandising, category management, or retail buying (experience in FMCG, grocery, fashion, electronics, or other retail categories is a huge plus)
- A track record of driving sales and margin growth through smart category strategies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable plans
- Excellent negotiation skills and proven success managing supplier relationships
- Experience working across multiple channels including digital, retail, and marketing partnerships
- The confidence to make data-led decisions and the adaptability to pivot when needed
