Lead Community Safety in the Heart of Perth
Are you a strategic leader passionate about community safety, innovation, and public wellbeing? The City of Perth is seeking a dynamic Alliance Manager – Community Safety and Amenity to lead a highly skilled team delivering essential services that make a real impact on the lives of our residents, businesses, and visitors.
In this high-impact role, you’ll oversee a range of services including Ranger Services, Community Health, Compliance Programs, and a state-of-the-art 24/7 Surveillance Centre. You’ll champion innovation, education, and regulatory compliance to ensure Perth remains a safe and welcoming city for all.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the General Manager Community Development, you will:
- Lead Strategic Safety Services: Manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver customer-focused, risk-based community safety initiatives.
- Drive Compliance Excellence: Shape and implement proactive regulatory strategies, manage complex cases, and leverage data to boost outcomes and effectiveness.
- Collaborate Across Sectors: Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to support major reforms and integrated service delivery.
- Engage & Represent: Lead public education efforts and represent the City at key forums, promoting safety, compliance, and community wellbeing.
About You
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- Expertise in Community Safety & Health: In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and proven experience delivering regulatory strategies in local government or similar settings.
- Leadership & Project Management: Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of managing high-performing teams and delivering strategic, cross-functional projects.
- Outstanding Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities to manage complex issues and drive results.
- Qualifications & Technical Skills: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field; proficiency in Microsoft Office; project management and government experience (highly regarded).

Eligibility
To be considered, you’ll need:
- The right to work in Australia (e.g. Australian birth certificate, passport or current visa)
- A valid ‘C’ class Australian driver’s licence
- A National Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months)
