Children’s Ground operates in Central Australia and across the Top End, with support provided by a Melbourne-based Shared Services team.

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Executive Assistant to the CEO to play a pivotal role in supporting our leadership and operations. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a bold and innovative organisation committed to national reform and community-led excellence.

About the role

As a First Nations Identified Executive Assistant / Administration Manager, you will provide high-level support to the CEO, ensuring their time and priorities are managed effectively. You’ll be the key liaison between the CEO, Directors, staff, Board members, and external partners—facilitating smooth communication and coordination across the organisation.

This role requires exceptional people skills, sound judgement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction. You’ll be proactive, resourceful, and a confident communicator with a strong sense of discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

- Executive Support:
Manage the CEO’s calendar, travel, and engagements; prepare briefing materials; coordinate meetings and retreats; and act as a trusted point of contact.
- Board & Governance Support:
Liaise with Board members and the Chair; manage logistics for meetings and events; prepare and distribute Board papers; and support the Board Secretary.
- Organisational Administration:
Lead and oversee the administration team; develop and implement policies; manage IT systems and consultants; support regional admin staff; and coordinate staff travel and movements.
- Project Coordination:
Support cross-organisational projects and initiatives; monitor progress; and ensure effective communication and follow-through.

You’ll bring:

- Proven experience in executive support or senior administration roles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in managing confidential information and complex priorities
- Experience in governance support and working with Boards (desirable)
- Understanding of or commitment to First Nations self-determination and cultural integrity
