About the opportunity

AGIG are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and high-performing team to provide engineering and technical support on fixed mechanical assets within our DBNGP and other AGIG gas transmission assets.

Based in our Perth CBD office, with some remote site travel requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of an Asset Management Plan for fixed mechanical systems/assets, including the development and review of asset maintenance prescriptions.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and assist with routine technical audits across facilities.
- Ensure the design of new and existing equipment meets both AGIG design specifications and applicable industry design codes/standards.
- Provide engineering input and review design deliverables (documents and drawings).
- Oversee implementation, commissioning and testing of mechanical assets and systems.
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, collaborating with finance to ensure accurate forecasting, analysis, and cash flow projections.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies and support ongoing operations.
- Conduct failure analysis and ensure the implementation of corrective actions for critical defects.
- Provide fault-finding support for mechanical plant and equipment, including heaters and valves.

About you

- Tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Extensive post-graduate experience specifically in oil and gas, refining, or related industries
- Strong background in design, construction, operation, and maintenance of fixed mechanical equipment
- Experience with piping, valve and pipeline design on gas transmission and/or hydrogen assets
- Hazardous area knowledge and experience working in such environments
