Role and responsibilities

The North Metro PEAC program provides supplementary courses for gifted and talented students in Years 5 and 6, as well as the Early Years Extension program for students in Year 1-3. Classes are run at 8 school sites across the North Metropolitan region. The role involves providing educational leadership to the PEAC team, including all teaching and support staff, in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Education. Responsibilities include leading the development and implementation of a strategic plan with targets related to student achievement, and managing staff performance and development in accordance with the Public Sector Performance Management Standard and Departmental policy. The successful applicant will lead the teaching and learning program for the region’s gifted and talented students in alignment with the general capabilities in the Western Australian Curriculum.

Eligibility and requirements

To work with us, you must:

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
