Senior Developmental Evaluation Officer (0000B1CY) – Clerk Grade 9/10
Join the NSW Department of Education as a Senior Developmental Evaluation Officer (Clerk Grade 9/10). This is a temporary full-time opportunity up to 28 January 2029, with potential for extension or conversion to ongoing.
Location: Parramatta, with some access to NSW Education offices and flexible working arrangements. Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10, base salary $129,464 to $142,665 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the Teaching and Learning Support (TLS) directorate: TLS enables schools, teachers and the system to support all learners to access and engage with the curriculum and reach their potential. TLS develops and delivers evidence-based professional learning, resources and advice to enable outstanding education for every learner.
About Targeted Programs and Implementation Support (TPIS): TPIS co-designs and delivers high-quality programs focused on enhancing educator practices and student outcomes. We achieve this through collaborations within TPIS, across TLS, and across the department.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the design and implementation of evaluation programs within the directorate to provide high-quality evidence on the impact of multiple high-profile workstreams.
- Lead evaluation-related activities, ensuring programs are evidence-based and informed by ongoing impact analysis.
- Lead the development and co-design of digital professional learning and resources across TLS and the department.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based professional learning, resources, and expert advice to support:
- The Small Group Tuition program
- Secondary teachers’ capacity to lift academic writing within KLAs in Stages 4 and 5
- Schools’ use of data, evidence, and evaluation practices aligned with improvement measures
Key knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation and facilitation of research and evaluation frameworks, methodologies and analysis in a business environment.
- Demonstrated experience applying qualitative and quantitative methodologies in a time-sensitive environment.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and the NSW AECG Partnership, ensuring quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
- Current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment (or willingness to acquire one).
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
