About the job

As a leader of Orygen’s Melton headspace centre, the Clinical Services Manager (CSM) plays a pivotal role in managing and coaching an effective multi-disciplinary team. The CSM is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of all aspects of clinical and community awareness services/activities at the centre, developing partnerships with key stakeholders, supporting innovative research and evaluation, managing risk and enhancing operational effectiveness.

Reporting to the Chief of Clinical Operations you will:

- Lead a passionate multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and positive outcomes for young people.

- Champion clinical excellence and ensure services align with Orygen’s vision, the headspace model, and contractual performance goals.

- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across programs, ensuring services are safe, effective, and responsive to community needs.

- Build strong partnerships with local services, young people, and families to create holistic, youth‑centred and collaborative care.

- Support and inspire staff through supervision, development, and leadership that fosters a positive and high‑performing culture.

Skills and experience

The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

- Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (such as psychology, social work, occupational therapy, mental health nursing) and full registration with AHPRA or membership with AASW.

- Extensive experience in youth mental health assessment, crisis management, brief interventions, and clinical governance, with a strong understanding of early intervention and service system reform.

- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams through effective supervision, people management, and delivery of innovative, youth and family-focused programs.

- Ability to lead with confidence and collaboration, fostering strong partnerships and guiding a cohesive, high‑performing team to deliver quality youth mental health services.

- Demonstrate initiative, sound decision‑making and excellent communication skills in managing intake, assessment, and service coordination in a dynamic environment.
