Associate Director -Supply Chain Systems
Optus is an Australian telecommunications company, delivering more than 11 million services to our customers every day across mobile, broadband and digital solutions.
We’re looking for a technology-driven leader to join our Corporate Systems team as Associate Director – Logistics and Procurement Systems — someone who thrives in enterprise-scale environments, enjoys solving complex system challenges, and can bring strong IT delivery and architecture experience to our Supply Chain transformation journey.
In this role, you’ll be at the core of Optus’ digital backbone, driving the design, delivery, and performance of Supply Chain and Procurement systems. You’ll partner with Supply Chain and Group Procurement leaders, architecting and integrating SAP and connected platforms, managing key vendor relationships, and ensuring our technology stack delivers stability, scalability, and performance at enterprise scale.
This is a hands‑on technology leadership role — ideal for someone who combines technical depth in enterprise systems with strong stakeholder management and strategic delivery capability.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, delivery, and operation of Supply Chain and Procurement systems across SAP S/4HANA, SAP IBP, and connected applications.
- Oversee system architecture, integrations, and performance, ensuring resilience, scalability, and security.
- Manage technical roadmaps in alignment with enterprise architecture and IT strategy.
- Partner with vendors and delivery teams to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance of systems and integrations.
- Drive automation, process efficiency, and simplification through technology.
- Govern change, releases, and lifecycle management across multiple systems and platforms.
- Build, mentor, and guide a strong technical team supporting key Supply Chain applications.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Strong IT background – proven experience in enterprise systems or technology leadership within Supply Chain, Procurement, or ERP domains.
- Deep SAP expertise, ideally across SAP S/4HANA, SAP IBP, and integration with platforms like Ariba or Ivalua.
- 10+ years of relevant IT or enterprise systems experience, including 3+ years in senior leadership.
- Skilled in system design, architecture, integration, and vendor management.
- Solid understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery frameworks.
- Experience in managing large‑scale system implementations or upgrades in complex environments.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with a focus on collaboration and technical excellence.
What’s in it for you?
- Competitive remuneration and employee discounts. Make life easier (and more affordable) with $80 monthly credit and 25% off Optus products and unique shopping discounts with our retail partners.
- Flexible working arrangements with opportunities to work three days in the office, two days remote or home.
- Vibrant and collaborative office campus that includes cafes, convenience store, chill out zones, GP, post office, gym and on-site childcare centre.
- Competitive leave policies, including additional “Connected” days to focus on culture, family, health, community, or whatever’s important to you.
- We support growing families with inclusive, carer‑neutral paid Parental Leave of up to 16 weeks.
- Direct your own development and build future‑ready skills with Optus U’s industry‑focused micro‑credentials, developed with La Trobe and Macquarie Universities.
- Build meaningful connections through employee‑led networks and diversity initiatives including Culture Connect, Elevate Women, Disability Network and Express Yourself (LGBTQIA+).
- Put your wellbeing first with free access to counselling and support services, 24/7 — in‑person, by phone, SMS, or video.
At Optus, we are strengthened by others and that means valuing diversity and saying ‘yes’ to embracing individual differences. We are committed to ensuring that our application process provides an equal employment opportunity to all job seekers, including individuals from diverse gender, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, individuals with a disability, individuals identifying as being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals who may have served in the armed forces or who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. We also want to do our best to make our recruitment process inclusive. If you require any adjustments or accessibility support to participate fairly and equally in the recruitment process, please email AccessibleRecruitment@optus.com.au or call 1800 309 170.
