Annual Salary: $90,000+12% super

NARACOOPA MINERAL SANDS PTY LTD mine and process heavy mineral sand from Fraser Beach, Naracoopa, King Island, Tasmania. The company is in a growth phase and we are now seeking a dedicated and experienced accountant to join our team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver accounting support and manage financial transactions relating to business operations.

• Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies and the reporting process.

• Prepare monthly and yearly financial /management reports, including P&L Statements, Balance Sheet Statements and Cash Flow Statements on all company's operations.

• Prepare documents for Business Activity Statements.

• Ensure all accounting activities and reporting comply with statutory laws and requirements.

• Review current trends for expenditures and revenue, followed by making appropriate recommendations to company executives regarding spending, finance control, and budgeting.

• Conduct financial investigations, prepare reports and advise on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, capital financing and taxation.

• Examine operating costs and company's income and expenditure.

• Review Accounts Payable/Receivable, includes processing invoices, payments, producing statement of accounts, collections on overdue accounts and account reconciliation when required.

• Provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.

• Contribute advice on all aspects of business operations, business structure, business plans, project feasibility reporting, taxation etc.

• Preparing taxation returns for the company.

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external).

• Maintain internal control systems.

• Ensure accounting treatments meet accounting standards whilst achieving optimal results.

• Prepare ad-hoc documents and reports for internal and external stakeholders for Accounting and Finance matters.

• Handle queries from executives on all aspects of the accounting function.
KEY DESIRABLE SKILLS

• A bachelor degree or higher qualification in relevant field of study.

• Minimum three years of post-qualification accounting experience.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A keen eye for detail and ability to follow processes.

• Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritisation and time management skills.

• Experience of working in a cross-cultural environment.

• Multi-lingual skills are preferred.
