Shaping the future of electrification and integration with Origin's VPP is a key focus of this role, with responsibilities spanning product and technology development within Origin’s Centralised Energy Services (CES) business.

Overview

We’re seeking an innovative and commercially minded leader to drive the development of new products and technologies within Origin’s Centralised Energy Services (CES) business. As Group Manager, New Products & Technology, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of electrification and integration with Origin’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP), delivering tangible commercial outcomes from pilot programs and trials.

Reporting to the General Manager, CES & New Property, you’ll lead a team up to five and collaborate across CES to champion strategic innovation, transformation, and customer-centric solutions for a rapidly growing base of nearly 500,000 accounts.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development and delivery of new product and technology initiatives aligned with CES strategy and electrification goals.
- Oversee pilot programs and trials, ensuring successful transition to scalable commercial offerings.
- Collaborate with CES leadership to drive cultural, structural, and organisational change.
- Integrate new technologies with Origin’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP) to enhance customer value and energy efficiency.
- Manage the approved operating budget and ensure financial accountability across initiatives.
- Provide strategic input into long-term planning and investment decisions for CES innovation.

About You

You’re a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments. You bring a passion for innovation, a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams through change.

You’ll also bring:

- Proven experience in product development, technology innovation, or strategy roles within energy, utilities, or infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of electrification trends and distributed energy technologies.
- Demonstrated success in leading pilots and scaling new initiatives into commercial operations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with a focus on performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
