Our client is a major Australian infrastructure organisation responsible for managing and developing a critical asset. Operating in a multi-stakeholder setting, this business is synonymous with complexity, scale, and strategic importance. Due to ongoing investment and transformation, an opportunity exists for an accomplished Senior Finance Analyst to play a pivotal role in the management of operational expenditure and business performance.

The Role

As Senior Finance Analyst, you will take ownership of Opex reporting and analysis across a diverse portfolio, partnering with operational and corporate stakeholders to drive cost efficiency, transparency, and accountability. This is a hands‑on and strategic role, ideal for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading the preparation and management of Opex budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis across multiple business units

- Providing insightful financial analysis and commentary to support informed decision-making

- Acting as a trusted business partner to cost centre leaders, offering strategic financial advice and challenge where appropriate

- Driving continuous improvement in cost control, reporting accuracy, and financial governance

- Supporting month‑end processes, management reporting, and board‑level presentations

- Contributing to strategic initiatives and business cases aimed at enhancing operational efficiency

About You

You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and translating complex financial information into clear business insights. You bring a strong understanding of operational expenditure within large, asset-intensive or service-driven environments.

To be successful, you will have:

- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

- CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent)

- Experience in a commercial finance or FP&A role

- Demonstrated expertise in Opex management, forecasting, and variance analysis

- Proven business partnering experience with operational and non-finance leaders

- Advanced Excel; exposure to ERP or BI systems highly regarded

- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills
