Are you ready to take the lead in transforming how government assets are managed? i am recruiting a Senior Asset Management Analyst to play a pivotal role in shaping long-term strategies, systems, and solutions that drive value across our entire asset portfolio.

About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader Asset Data and Systems, this senior-level position is central to the development and delivery of the asset management framework. You’ll bring deep expertise in lifecycle planning, data analysis, and financial modelling to ensure our assets are managed holistically—from acquisition to renewal. This is a high-impact role where your insights will inform capital works, maintenance programs, and long-term financial planning. You’ll collaborate across departments, mentor asset officers, and champion continuous improvement in systems and practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead asset strategy development aligned with the organisations long-term objectives

- Provide expert lifecycle advice across diverse asset classes

- Maintain and enhance the asset register in collaboration with asset owners

- Support creation of asset management plans and forward budgeting mechanisms

- Partner on financial reporting including the Long Term Financial Plan

- Conduct advanced data and spatial analysis to inform internal and public reporting

- Redesign workflows and embed best practices across operational teams

- Drive system improvements and contribute to corporate reporting

- Advise on asset governance policies and strategic planning

- Apply predictive modelling tools for whole-of-life asset analysis

- Mentor and support asset officers to build capability and ownership

- Act in leadership capacity when required and perform related duties as directed

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering

- Class C Driver’s Licence

- Strong understanding of Council asset management programs

- Proven project management and facilitation skills

- Advanced analytical and investigative capabilities

- Experience coaching staff and driving engagement

- High-level proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and Power BI

- Expertise in GIS and asset financial modelling tools (e.g. MyPredictor)

Desirable

- Postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering

- Advanced financial analysis skills for engineering budgets and costing
