Breadfern Balmain is a newly established organic bakery located in Darling Street, Rozelle. We specialise in handcrafted, speciality and gluten‑free pastries, cakes, and artisan breads. Breadfern is an inspired home of rustic, handmade goods, built on a family philosophy. We believe in tradition: our devoted pastry cooks and bakers use only the finest ingredients from local and sustainable producers, prepared and baked daily for the freshest, most memorable experience.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a small but growing team of Pastry Chefs. The role involves the preparation and baking of a variety of pastries and baked goods, contributing to recipe development and ensuring high standards of food safety and presentation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing, mixing, and baking a wide range of pastries and sweet baked items
- Weighing and measuring ingredients according to recipes
- Crafting and creating new and exciting baked goods
- Filling trays, molds and tins for baking
- Managing ovens, proofing, cooling, and storage processes
- Ensuring compliance with HACCP procedures and food safety standards
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area

Selection Criteria

- A minimum of 2 years of professional patisserie experience
- Strong knowledge of traditional and modern pastry techniques
- Demonstrated creativity and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment
- Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa with full work rights
