Make a difference as a Regulatory Response Manager

NRMA Insurancehas been helping Australians with their general insurance and actively supporting communities for 100 years. Part of Insurance Australia Group (known as IAG), we’re proud to be one of Australia’s most iconic brands.

Are you ready to make a real impact in the regulatory space? We’re building a new function and we want you to help shape it.

Your Role

As one of two Regulatory Response Managers, you’ll lead how IAG responds to regulatory notices, audits and inquiries across Retail Insurance Australia (RIA). This is a strategic, high‑visibility role where you’ll manage complex responses to ASIC, APRA and other regulators, often under tight timeframes and competing priorities.

You’ll coordinate cross‑functional input from Legal, Risk, Compliance, Data and business units, develop clear and consistent narratives, and oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of responses — from planning and drafting to executive sign‑off. You’ll embed governance frameworks, monitor progress against commitments, and proactively prepare for future regulatory focus areas. You’ll also play a key role in forming and leading a new team, helping to establish its culture, ways of working and long‑term impact.

If you’ve got a background in regulatory response, governance, legal or risk and you’re ready to influence how IAG shows up in the regulatory landscape, we’re ready for you.

This is a full‑time, permanent position open to applicants across Australia, with a preference for those based in Gadigal Country (Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne), Meanjin (Brisbane) or Tarndanya (Adelaide).

About You

You’re someone who thrives in complexity, brings clarity to ambiguity, and knows how to craft a compelling narrative especially when the stakes are high.

You’ve got a sharp regulatory mind and a knack for writing responses that are clear, credible and consistent. Whether you come from a legal, risk, compliance or governance background, you understand the regulatory landscape and how to navigate it with confidence.

You’ll bring:

- Solidexperience in regulatory, compliance, legal or risk roles within financial services
- Strong writing skills — you know how to shape and draft responses that stand up to scrutiny
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and obligations (ASIC, APRA, AFCA, CGC, SIRA)
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and lead cross‑functional initiatives
- Experience embedding governance processes and driving continuous improvement
- Strategic thinking with the ability to connect the dots across multiple regulatory engagements
- Strong communication,negotiationand analytical skills
- Relevant industry or specialist qualifications

You’re also ready to step into a leadership role helping to build a new team from the ground up, shaping its culture, ways of working and impact from day one.

Joining IAG you’ll have access to a raft of benefits from across the Group:

- Boosted superannuation with 13%as standard
- Up to 50% off personal insurance, including home and motor insurance
