Overview

Join a team that keeps community facilities running smoothly and safely. We’re looking for a hands-on Facilities Operations Officer to help coordinate and deliver maintenance and minor works across a diverse range of public buildings and assets.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Oversee and review maintenance work to ensure standards, safety, and compliance are met.

- Supervise contractors and assist with minor capital works projects.

- Carry out and coordinate programmed and reactive maintenance activities.

- Inspect facilities, report issues, and ensure timely follow-up and resolution.

- Manage contractor performance and ensure WHS and environmental compliance.

- Prepare estimates and contribute to annual maintenance budgets.

- Provide responsive and professional customer service to internal teams and the public.

What We’re Looking For

- Hands on experience in maintenance tasks

- Proven ability to inspect and audit maintenance

- Solid experience in building maintenance or facilities operations.

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

- Good communication and negotiation skills when dealing with contractors and stakeholders.

- Practical knowledge of WHS requirements in a facilities or construction environment.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Current WA Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.

Desirable

- Experience with materials ordering and budget monitoring.

- Previous exposure to local government or community facilities.

- Understanding of relevant building acts, regulations, and compliance standards.

- Trade or construction background desirable
