About Us
Westport is a program which sits within the Transport Portfolio. It is the long-term project that is progressing Perth’s proposed new, world-class port facility in Kwinana, which will unlock Western Australia’s economic growth, allow for the evolution of Fremantle, and deliver local jobs and opportunities in our southern suburbs.

Westport are looking for an experienced Spatial Analyst to play a key role in delivering high-quality spatial and non-spatial data and GIS services that support the strategic planning and development of one of Western Australia’s most transformative infrastructure programs.
In this exciting role, you’ll deliver complex spatial data tasks that directly inform strategic decision-making across the program. Working with large spatial data sets, you’ll apply your analytical skills to ensure data integrity, accessibility and relevance.

Responsibilities
Your impact will be through:
- Producing mapping and delivery of GIS products and services related to the spatial information needs of the Westport project.
- Preparing and presenting GIS reports and information.
- Providing technical and other support to ensure that the project requirements for spatial and non-spatial information are satisfied.
- Ensuring that professional and technical standards including process documentation are maintained.
- Ensuring data systems meet business needs and working with large data sets to capture, store, validate and create reports as well as ensuring good data governance, access and operational data management.
- Investigating appropriate technology for the enhancement and presentation of data and information.
- Continuous involvement in, and improvement of data handling procedures and production techniques.
- Establishing and maintaining positive, effective and collaborative communication and relationships with technical colleagues in DMTI, other government agencies and with Westport partners to ensure a cohesive approach and that a high standard of spatial information and GIS services is provided.
Qualifications
What sets you apart:
- A high level of proficiency in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and experience within a geographic and spatial information management environment.
- Experience in the use of Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) software applications or equivalent vendor applications including Map Info, Dassault Systems, Carto and Willow.
- Knowledge and experience in the identification, capture, management, processing, and presentation of spatial data sets.
- Qualifications relevant to Spatial Science, Mapping Science or Cartography with eligibility for professional accreditation to the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) are all highly desirable.

There is currently One (1) full time, fixed term appointment contract up to 30 June 2028 with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency available for immediate start.
